From the mid-18th century Irish country houses flourished. Then, during the War of Independence, the mansions became an IRA target and many were deliberately burnt. In 2008 Blake found his first abandoned 'Big House' and began exploring the lost architecture of Ireland. Here, he documents what is left of 50 mansion houses.
